The Puget Sound Spine Society (formerly Puget Sound Spine Interest Group) is a regional organization of health-care practitioners who treat the spine. The goal of PSSS is to establish a forum to disseminate and discuss best practices in the care of the spine including, pain, rehabilitation, and surgical issues. This forum encourages cooperation by all disciplines, including spine surgeons, physiatrists, internists, rheumatologists, anesthesiologists and neurosurgeons.
Our primary vehicles for discussion are evening meetings that occur four times a year, alternating between Seattle and Eastside locations. The meetings are generally held on a Thursday evening in September, November, January, and March.
The PSSS web site is intended to further connect our community and build upon the camaraderie that the meetings have established. In the coming months, the Puget Sound Spine Society would like to further its activities, including:
- Redesign of website for improved member access
- Upgrade website with educational content
- Provide travel costs for high-profile speakers from across the US
Educational grants of all sizes are welcome toward these objectives.
Over the past 20 years, our leadership has been active in fostering a culture of cooperation, communication, and excellence among spine care physicians in Western Washington. The Puget Sound Spine Society has also played a role in dispersing information regarding issues that directly affect our ability to practice high quality medicine.
The mission of PSSS is to establish an open, didactic forum to disseminate and discuss best practices in the care of the spine.
We are a regional organization of health-care practitioners who treat the spine. Our membership consists of orthopedic and neurosurgical spine surgeons, physiatrists, pain physicians, radiologists, neurologists, primary care, rheumatologists, physical therapists, nurse practitioners, chiropractors, and other allied health professionals. At this time, voting privileges are restricted to physician membership.
Although we also seek corporate support, your dues are critical in allowing us to offer high-quality programs.
